News: Watson, Haddin rested for two ODIs |
Australia’s National Selection Panel decided to rest all-rounder Shane Watson and wicket keeper Brad Haddin replacing them with Tim Paine and Adam Voges for the next two ODIs against the West Indies.
"After a busy international summer, and with an upcoming tour of New Zealand in mind, the NSP has taken the opportunity to manage the workloads of Brad Haddin and Shane Watson for the next two matches of the Commonwealth Bank Series.
"Tim Paine and Adam Voges are the players added to the (13-man) squad. Paine thoroughly deserves another chance behind the stumps for Australia in ODI cricket after playing so well in England [ Images ], the ICC Champions Trophy and India last year.
"Voges was unlucky to miss selection for the opening two matches of the Commonwealth Bank Series against the West Indies but now has a chance to press for selection," NSP Chairman Andrew Hilditch said in a statement.
Australia would go down in the third ODI at Sydney on Friday with a 2-0 series lead. The fourth match would be played in Brisbane on Sunday.
