News: Dada to captain, Whatmore to coach KKR

It is good news for the struggling IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders Sourav Ganguly makes a comeback as captain for the next season in 2010 replacing Brendon McCullum.

Also, the team announced official that Dav Whatmore would be the head coach of the team while Vijay Dahiya who is Delhi Ranji coach, would be his deputy.

The team management said, “The KKR management held several meetings over the past few weeks to discuss and plan the way forward for the franchise and the team. After weeks of careful deliberation, keeping in mind the vision and ideals of the team, the KKR management has appointed Dav Whatmore as the new team coach." The management also added that Ganguly has played a crucial role in the whole process.

Also, in the announcements made earlier, Wasim Akram, Pakistani pace legend was appointed as team’s mentor. "Andrew Leipus and Adrian le Roux have been appointed physiotherapist and team trainer respectively," the team management said in a statement.
